Under
the patronage of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al
Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior (MoI), attended the
6th group wedding organized by the Ministry of Interior for 58 of its
nationwide staff members. The event, held on Monday evening at the Armed
Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi, was organized by the Public
Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with
the Marriage Fund.
Attending the group wedding were Major General
Abdul Aziz Maktoum Al Shareefi, Director General of Protective Security
at the Ministry of Interior; Rashid Obaid Al Kashf, Board Member of the
Marriage Fund; Colonel Hussein Mahmoud Al Awadhi, Acting Head of the
Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior; as well as a
number of MoI officers; the families and relatives of the grooms and
brides; and a large gathering of guests.
In his statement, Lt.
General Al Sha’far said: “Group weddings are important societal issues,
which require concerted efforts to encourage marriage amongst UAE
citizens, and embody the social responsibility principles upheld across
public and private institutions.”
Adding further, Lt. General Al
Sha’far said, “Group weddings are an exemplary noble idea that
instills the values of love, cooperation and solidarity for the benefit
of community. Organizing this successful and distinguished initiative
for the sixth consecutive year consecrates the authentic family values
in the younger generations of UAE society.”
“This wedding aims at
mitigating the burdens suffered by young couples looking to get
married, and alleviate the relevant financial costs for the sake of
building coherent families. It embodies the Ministry of Interior’s true
spirit of societal partnership and affirms its humanitarian
contributions,” indicated Lt. General Al Sha’far.
In conclusion,
Lt. General Al Sha’far congratulated the newlyweds, wishing them a happy
life. “Marriage is a strong bond that serves as a platform for a new
social life, based on mutual respect, good relations, and mutual
understanding,” he said. He also urged them to shoulder the
responsibility, in order to achieve a stable family life, and turn the
family into a social institution capable of leading roles in society.
For
his part, Rashid Obaid Al Kashf, Board Member of the Marriage Fund
delivered a speech on the occasion and said, “The 43rd UAE National Day
festivities were exceptionally special, and our celebrations continue
with this remarkable event. The participation of the Marriage Fund in
this national occasion reflects our keenness to leave a distinguished
mark, and show our loyalty and love for this elite group of the
country’s citizens. We are extremely delighted to join this joyous
ceremony and celebrate the wedding of 58 grooms of MoI’s staff members
in one evening; as part of the Marriage Fund’s vision to build and
maintain a stable and cohesive Emirati family that, in turn, builds a
solid society.”
Al Kashf praised the generous patronage of HH
Sheikh Saif of the event, which reflects the efforts of the higher
leadership to alleviate the difficulties impeding young Emirati couples
from establishing families and securing a stable and decent family life
“His Highness’ patronage of the event also reflects the keenness to
provide care and attention to young Emirati citizens, via the countless
services and social care programs, in addition to the various privileges
granted to them. This embodies the mutual love and respect between the
higher leadership and its people,” Al Kashf added.
Al Kashf also
said, “The Marriage Fund is proud to take part in the wedding of young
Emiratis; such happy celebrations reflect pride and belonging to this
generous country, and express the young generations’ hope as they
advance into a brighter future with confidence, thanks to the full
support of the country and its generous leadership.”
Al Kashf
congratulated the newlyweds, whishing them joy, well-being and a life of
love; praying Allah Almighty to support their efforts to build a stable
and secure family. “The family is the fundamental pillar of the country
and the most precious wealth,” he added.
At the end of his
speech, Al Kashf expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the
Ministry of Interior’s officials for sponsoring and well organizing the
event. He also thanked all entities who provided support to the group
weddings.
The Police Music band performed a number of musical
pieces, while the military band performed traditional dances inspired by
the occasion.
