His Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Salman and His Royal Highness Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz inaugurate the largest hotel in the Middle East dedicated to the guests of Allah. Anjum is now the largest hotel in Makkah with 1,743 rooms and suites for its guests.
“Over the next seven years, we seek to add an additional 7,000 rooms to the hotel. This will be done during the second and third phases of the Jabal Al Kaaba project,” said Sheikh Yousef Abdullatif Jameel.
Anjum was inaugurated in the presence of his HRH Prince Sultan Bin Salman, Head of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), and his HRH Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah Province. Anjum Hotel is considered to be the first and the largest hotel in the Middle East with its 1,743 rooms and suites. Completed within the first phase of development projects in the Kaaba Mountain region, the Hotel aims to offer its prestigious and sophisticated services to the guests of Allah.
With 1,743 rooms and suites and four restaurants large enough to host 3,500 guests, Anjum Hotel is the largest in the Middle East. In addition, 40 percent of its employees are young Saudis who live in Makkah. Anjum Hotels are owned and operated by Adbul Latif Jameel Real Estate Investments Co., Ltd. (ALJREIC), one of the leading real estate development companies in Saudi Arabia.
On this occasion, Sheikh Yousef Abdullatif Jameel, Chairman of ALJREIC, praised the efforts of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince, the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for the development of the two holy cities, Makkah and the Medina.
He pointed out that the wise government continuously pumps billions of riyals into infrastructure-related development projects for the two holy cities and for the expansion of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. These projects could boost tourism and hospitality sectors across the Kingdom, especially considering that Saudi Arabia plans to receive more than 13 million Muslims to perform Hajj and Umrah by 2019.
Sheikh Yousef Abdullatif Jameel also expressed his appreciation and thanked HRH Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Makkah Province, for his support for Adbul Latif Jameel Real Estate Investments Co., Ltd. in its efforts of executing the Jabal Al Kaaba project . The Jabal Al Kaaba project will bring added value to Makkah and will offer only the best services to the guests of Allah.
Sheikh Yousef Abdullatif Jameel stated that inaugurating the Anjum Hotel is only the first stage of developing the Kaaba Mountain region. With the help of ALJREIC over the next seven years, 7,000 hotel rooms will be added in the upcoming second and third upcoming phases of the project.
Ahmed Sabry, the General Manager of Anjum Hotel Makkah, said, “Anjum Makkah will contribute in providing new job opportunities within the hospitality industry. We offer training programs for the employees of the hotel, and this will be a significant contribution to the number of Saudi nationals working in this sector.”
“The interior design of the hotel reflects the noble heritage of the Hijazi Saudi traditions and meets the highest levels of luxurious and international standards. The hotel is strategically located footsteps away from the Kaaba, with a private tunnel exit constructed and linked directly to the King Abdullah Gate-which allows visitors to easily reach the Ancient House,” said Ahmed Sabry.
