Abu Dhabi Police acquainted a number of staff members with the French experience and expertise for the rescue of air crash victims. The training course, which was held under the theme “Rescue and First Aid Following Air Crash Accidents”, included an array of topics on air crash victims’ rescue and identification, the role of civil defense in the field of search and rescue and other related topics. The course was attended by 25 officers from the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate, the Crisis and Disaster Management Department, and the Emergency and Public Safety Department. Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, attended the course graduation ceremony held in Abu Dhabi. The course was organized in cooperation with the French Embassy in the UAE and in coordination with the Training Department at Abu Dhabi Police. Training was provided by Colonel Pascal Lopez of the French Civil Defense Department; and Lt. Colonel Simon Pierre from the French Crisis Management Department.
Major General Al Raisi underlined the importance of such courses, stressing the keenness of the police leadership to boost its staff members’ efficiency and to develop police and security work. “This step comes in pursuance of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy aimed at qualifying and training human resources to enable them to cope with regional and global developments,” noted Major General Al Raisi. Adding further, he pointed out that ongoing training is an efficient way to improve the skills of police officers. Moreover, he urged the graduates to exert further efforts to promote work and achieve excellence.
At the end of the ceremony, Al Raisi distributed the certificates to the graduates. Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant Colonel Zayed Al Hajri, Deputy Head of the Emergency and Public Safety Department; Lieutenant Colonel Saleh Al Amoudi, External Training Branch Manager; and Captain Nasser Abdullah Al Saadi, Training Branch Manager at the General Directorate of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police.
