Al Ain Police Directorate Conducts Mock Evacuation Drill

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, February 7th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Al Ain Police Directorate recently carried out a successful mock drill to evacuate its premises’ staff members and customers as a response to an earthquake.

The drill falls in line with the environment, health, and public safety methodology adopted by the directorate to maintain its staff members’ safety in the event of any potential accident. It also aims to spread the safety and security education, raise awareness of the means to handle emergency situations, ensure enhanced preparedness of employees during various emergency situations, as well as test the efficiency of the directorate’s evacuation plans and fire systems.

According to the training scenario, as soon as the false alarms sounded, customers and employees evacuated the directorate’s building through the emergency exits and gathered in the designated assembly points in the directorate’s courtyard.

Two persons sustained minor and serious injuries as a result of the false fire that broke out during the accident. The Emergency and Public Safety Section’s medical staff provided them with first aid and medical treatment at the field hospital set up for this purpose, before transferring them to Tawam and Al Ain hospitals.
