A New Partnership Agreement Signed by Community Police and UAE Exchange

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, February 18th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Abu Dhabi Police, represented by the Community Police Department, signed a partnership agreement with UAE Exchange on Tuesday.

Lieutenant Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of the Community Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police, signed the contract on behalf of Abu Dhabi Police, while Mr. Y. Sudhir Kumar Shetty signed it on behalf of UAE Exchange, in the presence of a number of officers and officials.

Lieutenant Colonel Bin Muhairom emphasized the police leadership’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and interactions with all social groups and segments. “This embodies Abu Dhabi Police’s strategic priorities and promotes community-based partnerships between police and community sectors,” said Lieutenant Colonel Bin Muhairom.

“The awareness campaigns carried out by the Community Police are part of these priorities and part of the partnership between the two parties. They target more than 1.5 million foreign workers,” added Lieutenant Colonel Bin Muhairom. In line with the aims of the partnership, a sports event titled “The Minister of Interior’s Cricket Cup” will be organized with the participation of 4 internationally renowned teams from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. This event falls in line with the Community Police’s goal of reaching different categories and segments of society, with its view of enhancing community spirit and increasing effective communication between the police and the public.

The Minister of Interior’s Cricket Cup first match will take place on March 14th at the Abu Dhabi Cricket Stadium in Khalifa City.

Lieutenant Colonel Bin Muhairom and Mr. Y. Sudhir Kumar Shetty, COO Global Operations of UAE Exchange held a press conference at the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi. They answered journalists’ questions addressing many of the promotional aspects and the services that UAE Exchange can provide, as well as the awareness campaigns aimed at acquainting the public with UAE laws, customs and social traditions, in addition to financial transaction rules and other subjects that would interest foreign labor groups in the country.
