ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, January 10th 2014

According to statistics, a total of 35,351 individuals have recently registered in the E-Ports project in a number of malls in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Bani Yas; out of which 4,571 individuals have registered at the Galleria Mall in Abu Dhabi during the five-day registration campaign.

Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Hiri Salim Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations, made an inspection visit on Thursday, to the Galleria Mall E-Ports registration center. They reviewed the workflow, as well as the modern techniques and mechanisms used in the E-Ports Registration Project, which includes UAE citizens, GCC nationals, expatriate residents and visa holders.

Majors General Al Kutbi and Al Raisi praised the strong turnout of individuals who wish to register in the time-saving service. The E-ports Registration Project aims  to reduce travel procedures of passengers as they pass through the country’s various ports and takes no longer than 20 seconds.

Major Mohammad Ahmad Al Za’abi, Director of the E-Ports Project indicated that 1,543 individuals have registered during the last day of the enrollment process at the said center.  “The number of individuals already registered in E-ports registration project has so far exceeded half a million individuals, at the Abu Dhabi and Dubai International Airports, and the registration centers set up in a number of shopping malls,” added Al Za’abi.

In conclusion, Major Al Za’abi noted that a new phase of registration will be launched and that locations, times and dates will be announced later in the media.
