Sharjah Air Wing Rescues 10 UAE Nationals Trapped in Heavy Rains in Wadi Al Beih

The Sharjah Air Wing rescued today Sunday 10 UAE nationals whose ages range between 10-30 years old after being trapped in the floods caused by heavy rains in Wadi Al Beih in Ras Al Khaimah.
The Air Wing Operation Room received a call at 3:40 p.m. from Ras Al Khaimah Police General Headquarters on the incidents. Immediately, the required information was recorded in order to locate the area and a search and rescue Air Wing craft rushed to the place. Upon reaching the location, the evacuating operation to rescue the trapped nationals began, and the rescued individuals underwent a medical test following the operation to ensure that they did not sustain any injuries. Later they were transferred to a safe location.
Brigadier Staff Pilot Ali Muhammed Al Mazroui, Director of Air Wing Department at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, called upon UAE nationals and residents to avoid dangerous areas especially when heavy rains are falling. He stressed that they should not risk their lives by crossing valleys and roads that are at areas were floods drain. He also encouraged them to cooperate with the police by following safety instructions in such areas in order to save their lives.
Colonel Pilot Abdullah Salem Al Theeb, Head of Sharjah Air Wing Section mentioned that the initial emergency call was about six trapped persons, however, when the Air Wing craft reached the location 10 people were rescued. He noted that the craft that implemented the mission is equipped with a crane and modern equipment for rescue operation in such conditions, and this lead to the successful evacuation.
