FACES EXPERTS GIVE YOU Tips for the perfect Makeup look during winter on perfectly GLOWING skin
5 tips for perfect winter makeup:
This fall / winter makeup is all about dark, mysterious smoky eyes in color. Use a dark emerald green, or a deep ocean blue instead of the grey / black tones to create your smoky eye.
Pair your smoky eyes with a deep red lipstick to accentuate your smoky eyes; keep your lipstick matt to avoid over powering your smoky eyes.
Go for using a pencil / powder than is a few shades lighter than your eyebrows. This fall / winter it’s all about dark eyes and lips; but very light eyebrows
Avoid using make up that is darker than your complexion during the winter; if you want to go for a tanned look do visit a tanning spa once or twice before you apply the bronzer you used to wear during the summer as it would be too dark for you during the winter
Never underestimate the power of a pair of fake lashes with a smoky eye; pair your smoky eyes with a strong and thick set of eye lashes to complete the look
Makeup Winter Blues:
The cold breeze, the winter clothes, and the boots are all things we love that are synonymous with winter, unfortunately with it comes dry, flakey tight skin that tends to be hyper sensitive to the environmental changes and weather conditions.
As the Middle East’s leading beauty retailer we are always keen to not only always provide you with the best products but also keep you updated with the best practices to reveal your face of beauty.
Skincare for the winter:
Avoid using exfoliants that contain rough granular particles; the abrasives might be too tough on your delicate skin during the winter.
Moisturize your face twice a day; and if you experience dehydration go for a moisturizer that is petrolatum based for a very strong moisture hold.
Avoid using toners with alcohol; the alcohol will dehydrate your skin even more. Always look for soothing, hydrating toners instead.
Makeup removers that are designed to remove water proof makeup are usually rich with oils like almond oil and sesame oil; so even if you are not using any waterproof makeup; use an oil based make up remover to add even more moisture to your skin
To avoid getting chapped lips; regularly exfoliate your lips and apply a thick layer of moisturizer to them.
Makeup for the winter:
Applying makeup to a dry / dehydrated complexion can be very tricky; before applying any makeup; make sure you moisturize your face heavily; and follow that with a hydrating makeup primer to make sure your make up does not crack or flake throughout the day.
Avoid using compact powders excessively as they could dry out your skin during winter; look for loose powders with hydrating properties as they help lock moisture in to your skin; leaving it with a soft touch
Consider replacing your powder blush with a cream blush during the winter; cream blushers usually have hydrating properties that will help you fight dehydration
Matt and waterproof lipsticks can dry out the lips during the winter; instead wear a regular moisturizing lipstick but powder your lips before and after lipstick application to give it a matt finish without drying out your lips
The area most sensitive to skin dehydration during the winter are your lids and around your lips; apply moisturizing serums to these areas prior to applying makeup
