National and Popular Performances by Abu Dhabi Police Music Band at IHEE

The Abu Dhabi Police Music Band presented a number of UAE national and popular music pieces, performing during the events of the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (IHEE) 2013, which were highly acclaimed by the visitors.

The Abu Dhabi Police’s participation reflects its keenness to interact with the various societal events, out of its strong belief in the importance of music in people's lives. It also reflects the police’s ongoing commitment to keep pace with all events.

The Music Band toured the exhibition site; passing through a number of national and traditional pavilions, as well as other participating pavilions.  Leading the Music Band was an ADP Foot patrol with its 1957 uniform and logo.

The Music Band was accompanied by a number of Police Friends’ children, wearing uniforms in the rank of Colonel, to the thrill and overwhelming joy of the exhibition visitors.  The musical performances that included popular folkloric Emirati music, were highly applauded by the audience, who admired the different musical instruments, such as percussion and wind instruments, which marked the wonderful performance of the band members.

Through such public-oriented performances, the Abu Dhabi Police seeks to interact with the various segments of society, by sharing their interests and hobbies, as music is a key element in the life and culture of nations.  This comes in line with the police leadership’s commitment to achieve partnership and fruitful cooperation, and to harness the potentials of the youth, to promote societal development, prosperity, and stability in the country.      

It is noteworthy that the idea of creating the Abu Dhabi Police Music Band was triggered by the firm belief in the importance of developing work and military training. Being the first brass band in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Police Music Band was established in 1963, before the federation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was founded.
