ADP and “Yas Marina Circuit” discuss cooperation to provide services to the public

In a meeting attended by 20 strategic partners

In a meeting attended by more than 20 strategic partners, and held at Khalifa A Police Station, Abu Dhabi Police GHQ along with “Yas Marina circuit” discussed means of mutual cooperation that aims to enhance community services to the public. Meanwhile, the Khalifa A Police Stations and Bani Yas Al Mussafah have started providing summer activities to students, to acquaint them with a number of laws, and highlight the need for them to comply with community regulations, and avoid committing certain offences.

It is noteworthy that the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and “Yas Marina circuit” look forward to increase the number of strategic partners, in support of their initiative to meet the community needs and to promote community partnerships by developing societal activities and events.

In the second meeting for strategic partners recently organized by Abu Dhabi Police, represented by Khalifa A Police Station and Abu Dhabi Motor Sport Management Company, which manages “Yas Marina Circuit”, the attendees discussed the first meeting’s recommendations, work progress, and the different tasks; so as to bolster cooperation among partners to meet the needs and create a secure environment for all members of society.

Moreover, the attendees agreed to promote “social responsibility”, by developing events and activities that significantly serve the community; carrying out home, and community school visits; as well as trying to overcome the difficulties; discussing and adopting views and ideas that provide valuable services to the public.

They also agreed to hold periodic partners’ meetings annually, and to include other partners in future meetings. It was decided not to limit the services promotion process to partners, underscoring the need to integrate young people and all community members, and activate the role of community centers in residential areas.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the strategic partners, namely; the National Consultative Council; the Ministry of Labor;  Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs; the National center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS); Al Shahama and Al Mussafah Municipalities; the Community Police Department ; the Social Support Centers Department; and Khalifa A Police Station in Abu Dhabi.

Also attending were representatives of: Abu Dhabi Motor Sport Management Company, which manages “Yas Marina Circuit”; Ferrari World; Abu Dhabi Airports Company; Abu Dhabi International Airport;  Saaed Company for Traffic Systems; The National Program for Social Volunteering “Takatof”; Kelna UAE Association; Masdar City; Al Mafraq Hospital; Etihad Airways; Al Mafraq Hotel; along with  a number of private companies.

The meeting, which was held in the main conference hall at Yas Marina circuit, commenced with a welcome and opening address delivered by Ms. Maha Al-Shamsi, followed by a welcome speech delivered by Mohamed Al Qadi, Head of the operations management Department at Abu Dhabi Motor Sport Management Corporation. Al Qadi expressed his thanks for the selection of Yas Marina Circuit to host the strategic partners’ second meeting.   He also indicated that such meetings achieve communication and interaction with various segments of society in order to create a safe environment for the public; pointing out that the "Yas Circuit" provides services and activities aimed at attracting young people to the circuit.

For his part, Mr. Rashid Al Humairi, Government Sales Manager at Abu Dhabi Motor Sport Management Company, gave a detailed overview showcasing the importance and activities delivered by “Yas Marina Circuit”, being the most technologically advanced circuit in the world, and home for motorsport success in the Middle East, namely; the “Formula 1 TM Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix”. He emphasized the circuit’s dedicated attention to all society members by encouraging them to lead healthy lifestyles. For this end, the circuit provides open nights on Tuesdays on a weekly basis where all segments of society can enjoy jogging and cycling; on Wednesdays, women can engage in healthy fitness activities in privacy.

Afterwards, Major Abdullah Al Harthi, Head of Community Police Affairs Section at the Peripheral Areas Directorate, delivered a speech on behalf of the Abu Dhabi police GHQ (Khalifa A Police Station), highlighting the recommendations of the first meeting which was held last March at the National center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

He stated that the idea of "the partners’ initiative" began in 2008 with a view to create partnerships that meet the needs of the community, and provide a safe environment for all. Furthermore, he stressed  the need to enhance community partnerships by developing activities and events that serve the community, and provide access to individuals through field visits to  homes, schools, and governmental authorities; praising the partners’ role in serving the society.

Moreover, Major Al Harithi pointed out to a plan of action, engaging all strategic partners in various social events, praising the participants’ role and their efforts in community education and protection. He also stressed the importance of enhancing relations with the various local community institutions, so as to develop professional performance, and serve the police system.

On the same note, he pointed that the Khalifa “A” Police Stations and Bani Yas Al Mussafah have started providing summer activities for students, to acquaint them with a number of laws, and highlight the need for them to comply with community regulations, and avoid committing certain offences. The activities also include educational visits to acquaint them with the various Abu Dhabi police tasks; such as a visit to the criminal laboratory.

For his part, Captain Jumaa Al Badi Community Police Branch Manager at the Khalifa Police Station of the Peripheral Areas Police Directorate addressed the attendees, and invited them to submit proposals and express their views. He also presented a documentary titled “the boundless vision”.

Captain Al Badi gave an overview of the community initiatives and programs undertaken by the "community police", and the mechanisms for community communication with the public, which strengthen the foundations of strategic partnership between the police and the community; by providing the necessary means to serve social activity, for the benefit of community members.

Whereas Mr. Mohamed Abdul Qader, representative of Al Shahama Municipality, proposed community initiatives that benefit members of society, particularly young people; Counselor Mubarak al-Hilali, representative of Kelna UAE Association praised the efforts of Abu Dhabi police and its keenness to provide security and safety for society members, emphasizing the need to promote societal activities and engage students of the various educational institutions. .

Taking floor, Mohamed Abbasi, representative of “Takatof Volunteering Program” expressed his thanks to the organizers; and gave a brief overview of the Takatof Program and the importance of volunteerism in boosting community activities.

Concluding the meeting, the attendees discussed a number of public services provided by the participating entities to community members.  Finally, Abu Dhabi Police and “Yas Marina circuit” exchanged commemorative shields; marking the enhanced joint cooperation between both partners. Then representatives from the "Circuit", Kelna UAE Association, and the Al Mafraq Hotel distributed commemorative gifts to the audience.
