Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, Director General of the Emirates Center for
Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) expressed the center’s
willingness to extend the institute’s every potential to assist the
Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) in making the BCS International IT
Conference 2013 a grand success. The event will be held under the
patronage of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of
Higher Education and Scientific Research.
In
a meeting today with Professor Ian Ryder, BCS Deputy-CEO, and Engineer
Adel Alkaff Al Hashmi, Conference Chairman and Chairman of the BCS
Middle East Chapter, Dr. Al-Suwaidi said: “We are keen to pursue all
developments; especially those related to the IT sector. Experts at the
ECSSR will spare no effort in searching for ways to utilize developments
and employ them in fields of economy, industry, agriculture, water,
energy and renewable energy, and then accelerate the sustainable
development process in the UAE.” He added: “The center is preparing
papers to be discussed during the international IT conference.”
Engineer
Al Hashmi stressed ECSSR’s importance as a leading scientific
organization in sustainable development not only in the UAE and the
region, but also globally. He commented: “We acknowledge the importance
of the ECSSR’s potentials and its experience in organizing international
conferences and workshops particularly in the IT sector.” He expressed
his contentment regarding the ECSSR’s readiness to support the BCS
International IT Conference, which will be held from 31st March-1st
April 2013 under the title “Towards 21st Century Innovation.”
The
ECSSR and the BCS signed a partnership agreement for cooperation in
exchanging expertise and IT-detailed strategic research. The agreement
also states ECSSR’s readiness to provide its research, organizational,
and consultative services related to mutual projects in the IT sector or
any other future mutual projects, in addition to holding a series of
conferences and workshops, especially IT-related infrastructure
development in the UAE, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the
region.
Headquartered in London, the BCS was established in 1957 and has 75,000 members in 100 countries.
