Hala Waleed Juffali Honorary Consul of Saint Lucia in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Mrs. Hala Waleed Juffali has become the first woman to assume the post of Honorary Consul in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following her appointment to the position by Saint Lucia in Jeddah.

The opening of the Honorary Consul Office in Saudi Arabia falls within the framework of Saint Lucia’s efforts to expand its diplomatic presence within the Middle East after gaining its independence.

As part of her preparations to assume the new post, Mrs. Hala Waleed Juffali visited Saint Lucia. She met with government officials and a host of personalities representing local authorities and organizations as well as governmental entities. There, she became acquainted with the business sector and lifestyle of Saint Lucia.

Upon obtaining the approval of official authorities in Saudi Arabia, Honorary Consul Mrs. Hala Waleed Juffali started working at her Office on 1 November.

The Office will commence its preparations for a workshop with travel agencies and airlines operating in Saudi Arabia. The activities of the office also spans to opening investment opportunities and developing business.

It is worth mentioning that Saint Lucia is an island country in the Eastern Caribbean. After gaining its independency, the country strengthened its relations with the United Kingdom by entering the Commonwealth of Nations during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The island later became the headquarters of the state.

MoI and Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation Discuss Ways to Enhance Cooperation

In a meeting held in his office Sunday morning, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, met with Christer Viktorsson, Director General of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) and his accompanying delegation.

  During the meeting, both parties discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and coordination and the exchange of information and expertise between the Ministry of Interior and the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation.
