Saif bin Zayed Attends MoU Signing to Raise Awareness among Students on the National Service Project

 Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, attended today, Sunday, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the UAE Armed Forces General Command and the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The MoU aims to promote cooperation on raising awareness among students of schools and universities on the importance of the National and Reserve Service Project.

Present at the ceremony which took place at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, were Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior; Staff Major General Eng. Essa Saif Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces; and  Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of  Central Operations.

The MoU was signed by Major-General Pilot Sheikh Ahmad bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National and Reserve Service Authority on behalf of the UAE Armed Forces General Command (the first party) and Ahmed Mohammed Al Marar on behalf of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior (the second party).

HH Sheikh Saif stressed the inter-institutional relations to serve the nation and its people, adding that the National and Reserve Service Project and the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program aim towards the same national goals through different means.

For his part, Sheikh Ahmad bin Tahnoun praised the achievements of the organizers of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program, especially in fields of games and e-applications, adding that: “It is very important to use these games and applications within educational and scientific fields, benefiting the Emirati human capital.” Sheikh Ahmad bin Tahnoun called upon all concerned parties to commit to developing such systems within very high quality levels as they always did.

Also present at the ceremony were Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Staff Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Mulla from the National and Reserve Service Authority; Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of the Office of HH the Minister; Colonel Expert Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Al Dabal, General Coordinator of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program; Captain Sultan Saeed Al Ka’bi; Captain Nassir Al Shakili from the UAE Armed Forces General Command; and a number of officers and members at the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program.

For his part, Colonel Dr. Ibrahim Al Dabal said: “The idea of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program came as an initiative from the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to create an awareness national program for students covering all academic years and addresses their issues. The initiative also suggested that all government, civil and private institutions will cooperate through their current awareness programs and exchange, and promote expertise to bring success to the program and achieve the UAE vision 2021.”

The MoU supports the National and Reserve Service project  that is supervised by the UAE Armed Forces General Command and the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program “Aqdar” that is under the supervision of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and includes around 50 ministries and federal and local authorities.

The MoU aims to create a partnership and collaboration among both parties to achieve the utmost benefit from their existing capacities through cooperation in executing and activating the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program, in order to enable students and serve the goals of the National and Reserve Service project. It also aims to utilize the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program to raise awareness among students on the National and Reserve Service project.

According to the MoU, the first party (the UAE Armed Forces General Command) shall undertake the role of enabling the second party (the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior) to carry out its tasks. The first party shall also provide the second party with all facilitations to achieve the objective of the MoU, in addition to providing all information and data related to the National and Reserve Service project requested by the second party, according to applied considerations of the first party.

Furthermore, and according to the MoU, the second party shall provide the first party with the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program’s work plan and outcomes around the year, in addition to training and qualifying the employees of the first party and introduce them to the goals, the objectives and the mechanisms of the work within the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program, together with its impacts on the objectives of the National and Reserve Service project. The second party shall also design scientific and training materials to execute the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program after agreeing with the first party and in coordination with the goals and requirements of the National and Reserve Service project. Additionally, the second party shall participate in the activities and events organized by the first party and support them with all available means.
