Mobile Dental Care Unit Visits Dalma Mall and the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority

Dental Screening and Tips for Maintaining Teeth

The Mobile Dental Care unit at the Abu Dhabi Police provided its services to the visitors of the Dalma Mall in Musaffah and the staff members of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority. The medical staff accompanying the Mobile Dental Care Unit carried out comprehensive dental check-ups and screening for visitors and staff, in addition to providing them with tips on the means of how to maintain healthy teeth.   Major Mohammed Abdullah Al Raisi, Orthodontist; Dental Clinics Branch Manager at the Medical Services Department of Abu Dhabi Police noted that the Unit continues its rounds to check the teeth and provide treatment for a wide social category across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to increase the numbers of beneficiaries. This step comes under the “Plants of Hope” initiative launched by the police leadership to promote the police’s role in the service of society.   He also indicated that the Dalma Mall visitors in Musaffah and the staff members of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority benefited from the services of the Dental Mobile Care Unit, equipped with the necessary equipment to check-up and screen their teeth. Moreover, the Mobile Dental Care Unit staff also provided necessary advice to students. It is noteworthy that the Unit seeks to provide access to dental care to all community members, at public facilities and homes to save time and effort and reduced distances for them.

Al Raisi added that the Unit contributes to strengthening police services offered to the citizens and residents alike, including the medical and therapeutic services to patients. “It also provides the best medical and therapeutic services to individuals in support of the efforts of the government in providing such services and improving their quality”, pointed out Al Raisi.

He noted that the medical team deals with different age groups and health conditions through the medical dental screening program to identify the health condition of the teeth and provide field medical service.

On the same note, Thamer Rashid Al Qasimi, Acting Head of the Communication and Community Service Department indicated that the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority hosted the Mobile Dental Care Unit of Abu Dhabi Police as part of the events of the assistance program “Auwn” for Community Service implemented by the Authority. “The medical staff accompanying the Mobile Dental Care Unit carried out comprehensive dental check-ups for the Authority’s staff members and the supplier of the services”, added Al Qasimi.

“The unit is a unique initiative to alleviate the suffering of some community segments having trouble to reach dental clinics. It provides police medical staff to meet their needs without the hassle of visiting hospitals,” pointed out Al Qasimi. He also expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Abu Dhabi Police and the medical staff who contributed to its success.

The medical team provided its services to the Authority’s staff members on two shifts: the morning shift for the staff members and the evening shift for the women. The staff members expressed their appreciation for the “Auwn” program for supporting the staff members, especially in term of dental care.
