Forensic Labs Coordination Committee Discusses Development Plans


ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Friday, February 7th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

In its first meeting for 2014, the Forensic Labs Coordination Committee discussed its plan for the year, as well as the joint training and scientific exchange programs. The meeting was chaired by Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Forensic Evidence Department, and attended by members of the committee and chiefs of technical disciplines sections in the UAE.

Colonel Al Hammadi said that the committee reviewed the proposed steps to standardize technical reports models, and exchange scientific and specialized knowledge between forensic experts at the countrywide level. “Joint training courses will be conducted between forensic laboratories in the country, in order to train forensic experts and assistant forensic scientists,” added Colonel Al Hammadi.

He also indicated that the department has reviewed the procedures underway for the establishment of the Federal Forensic Lab, and the endorsement of its organizational structure. It is worth mentioning that the Federal Forensic Lab will be headquartered in the Emirate of Sharjah.
