Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, December 17th 2013 [ME NewsWire]The Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has organized an introductory lecture about the strategic plan involving security media and government communication. The lecture, held in coordination with the Police College, was organized for the officers who are enrolled at the master’s program at the college.
The lecture was delivered by Captain Ahmed Al Mansouri, Chief of Strategic Planning Section at the Security Media Department. He talked about the preparatory stages of drafting the strategic plan and how it would be deployed and implemented by the Ministry of Interior.
He stated that the security media strategy focuses on several factors, which include all the statistics and indicators related to performance, as well as the institution’s current situation. It also includes drawing standardized comparisons between international media departments and governments’ communication bodies. This included comparisons between the types and quality of communication methods, and discussing the current situation and improvements needed with the department directors and heads of sections associated with performance at the institution.
Captain Al Mansouri also noted that the federal government’s communication strategy was reviewed to ensure harmony between the main components and the sub-components. He mentioned that the strategy is carried out in accordance with implementation mechanisms that include strategic initiatives and projects; and are in accordance with the timetables that aim to serve the strategic goals.
The government communication strategy focuses on striking a balance between building an integrated system of government communication, and effectively and rapidly addressing issues of priority. The strategy included a set of principles. Under each principle are a number of strategic goals and initiatives that can be easily measured by certain criteria.
This strategy, which was prepared by the government communication office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, was developed in a way that supports the general strategy of the federal government and its goals. The main goals include the effective and comprehensive use of communication methods in delivering the messages, as well as focusing on building professional capacities in government communication. It also includes mechanisms of support for government decision-making through communication and effective media planning.
The government communication strategy aims to tackle strategic priorities that require a great amount of attention. It aims to enhance transparency and flexibility and allow for more professional and active communication with the community.
