Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Friday, December 6th 2013 [ME NewsWire]
To mark the UAE’s 42nd National Day, the Saeed Society to Reduce Traffic Accidents took part in the celebrations organized by Nahd Tribe in Al Shamikha City, and the Zayed Higher Organization- Abu Dhabi Center for Care and Rehabilitation for People with Special Needs. This comes in line with the society’s societal communication methodology to enhance traffic culture among all segments of society.
“Saeed ’s participation in the popular celebrations marking the National Day organized by Nahd Tribe included distribution of traffic awareness publications and brochures,” indicated Lt. Colonel Jamal Salem Al Ameri, Executive Director of the society. He added: “The Saeed Society also took part in the celebrations held by the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs in line with its keenness to enhance communication and share the joy of the National Day with community members, particularly people with special needs.” Al Ameri also noted that as part of its participation, the Saeed Society organized a traffic-themed exhibition and contests, including the “Best Decorated Car” Gifts were distributed to winners. “This would enhance the police officers’ humanitarian image in society,” said Al Ameri.
The Saeed Society to Reduce Traffic Accidents had participated in traffic awareness-raising efforts during the UAE’s 42nd National Day celebrations. This included distribution of traffic education brochures acquainting community members with the guidelines set by the authorities, which warned against changing the vehicle’s color, putting posters that obscure vision or posting of inappropriate and/or obscene words, and picking up passengers that exceed the number of allowed passengers in the vehicle. The guidelines also warn passengers against sticking any part of their body out of the vehicle, tinting or coloring windscreens, using celebration sprays and exiting vehicles on highways.
