Major General Abdul Aziz Maktoum Al Shareefi, Director General of Protective Security at the Ministry of Interior said in a speech on the occasion of the 42nd National Day:
This day marks the UAE’s 42 years of unity, which account for the goodness, security, and prosperity witnesses presently by the country. Through the achievements made in the various regional and international fields, the Union has laid down the foundations for a promising future and earned the UAE its prestigious stature on the regional and international scene.
On this solemn occasion, we are celebrating the progress attained by the UAE, which positioned it among the most developed countries and turned it into an example to be emulated in all fields. The Union’s development and growth legacy over the past four decades has been instrumental to the radical changes that took place in the country, and a key driver to turn it into a modern country that enjoys a prominent position worldwide, and provides its people with a safe and stable life.
The 42nd National Day represents a historic turning point and a significant transformation in the Emirati people’s lives. The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May God have mercy upon his soul) has proven to the world the importance of unity and solidarity, through his wisdom and determination. Under his banner, the UAE became a modern State with a remarkable and strong position among other countries of the world.
By the grace of God and the support of the higher leadership, the UAE has become stronger and more confident in achieving the requirements of this era. It has dedicated its attention to achieve sustainable development and cultural growth in its human, economic, social, cultural, and security aspects for the benefit of the Emirati people. This earned the UAE a leading well-established position at the regional, Arab, and international levels. It has also become an efficient highly respected member of the international community and the preferred destination for culture, tourism, as well as Arab and foreign investments.
Through the clear vision and wise strategies, our higher leadership has been able to support the union’s march, out of its firm belief that it is tool to achieve excellence and leadership as a unified entity, it also managed to achieve the people’s aspirations.
In light of this great achievement, we are bound to preserve the gains that have been made and pursue the same path of progress to protect our unity and maintain the UAE’s prominent position among other countries.
On this glorious occasion, we would like to express our heartfelt congratulations to our higher leadership and the Emirati people. We also pray Allah the Almighty to bestow his blessings to the country’s leaders, and assist them in their efforts to further the country’s march of prosperity and progress.
