Abu Dhabi Police Celebrate the UAE 42nd National Day
Staff Members Aspire to Achievements Worthy of the Union’s March

The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ marked the UAE 42nd National Day with festivities across its various departments. The ADP staff members expressed their immense pride in the country’s higher leadership and its achievements on the local and international levels. They reiterated their allegiance to the leadership that elevated the UAE to attain a prominent status on the international scene, and praised the all-round prosperity and development taking place in the country. They added that they look forward to a bright future with great achievements worthy of the Union’s development march, stressing that this solemn occasion reflects the glorious journey of construction and giving.
Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Hiri Salim Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police attended the school students’ celebrations organized by the Abu Dhabi Education Council to mark the UAE 42nd National Day. Following the ceremony, which was held at Al Forsan International Sports Resort in the presence of H.E. Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, General Manager of the Council, Major General Al Khaili said that there are two reasons to celebrate: “We are immensely happy with the epic win of the Expo 2020 bid, which coincides with the 42nd National Day of the UAE. This double win shows that determination is the key enabler to reach our goals and overcoming all challenges. Emirati citizens are united, thanks to the support of the higher leadership,” indicated Al Khaili, pledging to pursue work to achieve the goals set by the leadership.
Major General Al Khaili also took part in the ceremony organized by the Legal Affairs Department at Abu Dhabi Police to mark the UAE's 42nd National Day. The ceremony included an array of events, poem recitations, heritage shows, traditional folk performances, and speeches that reflect the love for the country. Attending the ceremony were Brigadier Dr. Saeed Saif Al Alawi, Chairman of the Permanent Disciplinary Council; Colonel Salem Khamis Al Yammahi, Head of the Legal Affairs Department; Colonel Mohammed Saif Al Zaabi, Director of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Directorate General; and retired Brigadier Mohammed Khamis Al Shehhi, former Director of the Legal Affairs Department, along a large number of officers.
The Directorate General of Guards and Special Tasks at Abu Dhabi Police held a ceremony to mark the UAE 42nd National Day, attended by Brigadier Fares Khalifa Al Farsi, Director General. , In his speech on the occasion, Al Farsi stressed that recalling the blessings of Union Day is an auspicious occasion for both citizens and residents of the UAE, which has become a melting pot for cultures and civilizations, unparalleled in this day and age.
In the same vein, the Abu Dhabi Police Departments’ Compound organized a grand ceremony featuring various national events and programs to mark the UAE 42nd National Day. Attendees extended their heartfelt congratulations to the higher leadership for winning the Expo 2020 bid, which proves the UAE’s ability to host the most prestigious international events. Brigadier Saeed Saif Al Nuaimi, Procurement and Warehouse Department Director delivered a speech on the occasion; lauding the Union’s countless achievements. He also extended his heartfelt congratulations and blessings to the UAE leadership and citizens.
For its part, the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior organized a ceremony during which the staff members expressed their joy on this auspicious national occasion. Attending the ceremony were Colonel Dr. Fawaz Khalil Badran, Director of the Department; Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Al Khajah, Deputy Director of the Department; heads of sections, branch managers and staff members of the department.
In his statement on the occasion, Lt. Colonel Al Khajah stressed that celebrating Union Day is a national duty to enhance the sense of affiliation. It is an invitation for future generations to recall the greatness of this nation and the efforts of the renaissance builder and founder, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his late brothers, their Highnesses members of Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, who have materialized the idea into one of the most distinguished experiences of the modern era for decades.
“His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and his brethren, their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, have proven to be worthy successor to the best predecessor, by pursuing the same path of progress and development. On this glorious occasion, the Emirati people, who enjoy prosperity and progress under their rule, cannot but express their commitment and loyalty towards their wise leadership, which further elevated the UAE’s status to world-class levels,” concluded Al Khajah.
During the ceremony, the video clip of the poem titled “Al Zaeem Al Falahi” was shown. The clip is a gift from the MoI to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, on the occasion of the 42nd UAE National Day. Moreover, Al Bawadi Primary School Band made a national and heritage performance highlighting the glories of the country, which was highly acclaimed by the audience.
During the ceremony, commemorative gifts and certificates of appreciation were presented to “Al Yolah” band from Al Bawadi Primary School, and to the winners of the competition “My Country”, organized by the Security Media Department on the occasion. The crew in charge of producing and directing the poem film “Al Zaeem Al Falahi” was also honored.
A similar ceremony was held by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Abu Dhabi Police at the department’s Headquarters in Abu Dhabi, and attended by the officers’ children and staff members. It featured various contests and poem recitations on the occasion. Prizes were distributed to participants.
Attending the ceremony were Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammad Borshid, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department; Colonel Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Deputy Director of the Department; Colonel Sultan Al Darmaki, Head of the Anti-narcotics Department; and Colonel Thani Al Dhaheri, Chief of the Support Services Section; along with chiefs of sections, branch managers and staff members.
The ceremony began with the UAE national anthem followed by a documentary, highlighting the efforts of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who laid the foundations of the Union, with his brethren, their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, as a token of love and dedication for the precious country. The ceremony also included poems recitation, and contests for staff members and their children; winners were rewarded.
Staff members of the Clubs and Sports Activities Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ expressed their heartfelt joy to celebrate this cherished occasion. The ceremony was held in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Education Council, and attended by Colonel Aref Saif Al Shamesi, Head of the Clubs and Sports Activities Department; Colonel Saif Al Shamesi; and a number of officers and constables.
Colonel Saif Al Shamesi, Chief of the Cultural and Social Activities Section at the Clubs and Sports Activities Department noted that the ceremony was inspired by the Emirati heritage. “Students from the Abu Dhabi Education Council’s various schools presented game shows, folk dances and national songs, to promote the national identity among students and acquaint them with the legacy of parents and forefathers,” added Al Shamesi.
Children also took part in the UAE 42nd National Day celebrations. For this end, the Kindergartens Section at the Clubs and Sports Activities Department of Abu Dhabi Police hosted a ceremony that expressed the children's innocence, love and loyalty to the homeland, through an array of activities marking the National Day.
The Abu Dhabi Police’s Social Support Centers 42nd National Day celebrations included heritage shows and national songs presented by Al Bateen school and “My Joyful World” Nursery. These performances embodied the unity of the UAE, and enhanced the sense of affiliation and patriotism among the youth. Patients of Provita International Medical Center, Abu Dhabi, also had their share of national songs and art shows, organized by the Social Support Centers on the occasion.
The Ewa’a Shelters’ Section, at the Victim Support Branch of the Social Support Centers Department also celebrated the UAE 42nd National Day. Attending the ceremony were Colonel Ali Al Badi, Acting Director of the Social Support Centers Department; Colonel Hadef Al Shamesi, Head of the Social Support Centers Department in Abu Dhabi; as well as a number of officers, constables, staff members and strategic partners.
Colonel Ali Al Badi conveyed the joy of the Social Support Centers Department’s staff members on this auspicious national occasion, which reflects the achievements attained by the State.
For her part, Captain Khadija Al Hosani, Victims Branch Manager said: “Year after year, we celebrate this much-cherished occasion, the Union’s Day, in honour of the unification of the seven Emirates into one proud nation highly acclaimed worldwide.” She added: “History has witnessed a construction, renaissance and progress boom, achieved thanks to the determination and will of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his late brothers, their Highnesses members of Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates.” The ceremony included performances y students of the International Scientific Private School and Al Manhal International School, as well as other shows presented by Al Habban Band.
Employees of the Performance Appraisal Department at the Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the UAE 42nd National Day, reiterating their allegiance towards their beloved country. The ceremony included a number of national and heritage events, and was attended by Lt. Colonel Mohammed Ali Al Muhairi, Head of the Department, along with officers, non-commissioned officers, constables and civilians. Attendees exchanged congratulations on the occasion with guests from other departments.
The Al Ain Medical Services Section affiliated to the Medical Services Department of the Abu Dhabi Police, in coordination with the Abu Dhabi Education Council, organized a ceremony to mark the UAE 42nd National Day in Al Ain Education Zone. Attending the ceremony was a large number of schools students, along with representatives of governmental and private bodies.
The celebration featured a military and aerial parades, as well as heritage shows, such as the famous “Al Yolah” folk dance. These performances, which expressed the feeling of affiliation and loyalty towards the homeland, were highly acclaimed by the audience. The Umm Kalthoum Secondary School for Girls contributed a number of interesting and distinguished performances.
Major Ayman Jumeyan Suleiman, Chief of the Al Ain Medical Services Section stressed the commitment of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ to engage all community institutions in such events, which reflect the people of this country’s allegiance to their country, and a tribute to the Union’s landmark achievements attained by the grace of God, and the support of the higher leadership.
For her part, Lieutenant Dr. Aysha Hassan Al Maamari indicated that the 2nd of December is a prestigious national occasion for citizens and residents of this precious land. “The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ has made countless achievements in the service of both citizens and residents, since the dawn of the Union,” she added.
The ceremony also included a photo gallery consisting of students’ creations. Most paintings reflected patriotism and the spirit of the Union.
In the same vein, the Khalifa Police Station, affiliated to the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ organized and welcomed community visits. This initiative is in pursuance of the celebrations organized to mark the UAE 42nd National Day.
The Community Police delegation at the Khalifa Police Station, accompanied by a group of housewives visited Al Madeef Shelter for people with special needs, affiliated to the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs in Al Mafraq area. The delegation distributed gifts to the inmates.
The Station also distributed commemorative gifts and brochures that showcase the community police tasks and duties, during the societal event carried out recently by Al Mafraq hospital in Abu Dhabi to celebrate the National Day. This initiative embodies the Abu Dhabi Police strategy to activate partnership with the various institutions and community members.
