Al Ain Traffic Implements an Awareness Campaign on the Causes of Major Accidents

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, September 1st 2013 [ME NewsWire]

The Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Section, Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, implemented an awareness campaign under the title: “Be Aware of the Causes of Major Accidents.” The campaign targeted the Al Waqen, Mezyad, Soihan, and Al Her regions where more than 1,000 awareness brochures distributed to drivers.

Major Salah Abdullah Al Hemairi, Acting Head of Al Ain Traffic Section, said that a comprehensive and integrated plan including the preparation of publications, lectures, exhibitions, and spreading awareness through various media outlets was developed. He noted that the plan promotes traffic safety by urging the community to adhere to laws, and informing the public about the results of traffic accidents in terms of human and economic losses. He further stressed the importance of consolidating efforts to reduce the rate of traffic accidents and mitigate their impacts on deaths and serious injuries.

First Lt. Nasser Khalifa Al Shamesi, officer at the Public Relations Branch in the Al Ain Traffic Section, accompanied by Policeman Abdullah Al Nuaimi, distributed brochures to different regions in line with the Al Ain campaign to promote traffic safety. This aims to prevent abusive practices to enable the achievement of a comprehensive and effective traffic awareness program targeting groups who are considered to be one of the main causes of all types of accidents.

  1. According to Health And Safety Training Peterborough, Abu dhabi has rated among lowest countries where accidents take place. I'm proudly saying this because my brother also lives there. Thank you for the informative article.
