Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, August 1st 2013 [ME NewsWire]The ADSG, a public, private partnership for the benefit of sustainable development, has issued the second ADSG Sustainability Journal, the first of its kind in the region, highlighting sustainability management and best practices.
The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group (ADSG), has launched the second edition of its Sustainability Journal, highlighting the importance of a holistic social, economic and environmental approach to sustainability in the UAE, announced ADSG Director, Ms Huda Al Houqani.
The Journal, a quarterly publication that promotes sustainability awareness, engages on the latest thinking in sustainability management and acts as a conduit for sharing best practice across social, environmental and economic aspects, also features interviews with prominent drivers of sustainability in the UAE, as well as regionally and internationally.
The current issue, features interviews with key ADSG members and partners; leading with an interview with Mr Alex Thursby CEO of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi on the Bank’s sustainability strategy and the value the ADSG has brought to their organisation.
The Journal aims at providing a much-needed platform for sustainability professionals and practitioners in the Middle East to engage on current thinking and practices in the field by providing sustainability thought leadership within a regional context. Ms Huda al Houqani, ADSG Director, said: “Communication is vital when it comes to sustainability. We are fortunate that our member organisations are passionate about driving the sustainability agenda and have many examples and stories to share.”
The issue also includes an interview with Dr Nawal Al-Hosany, the Director of Sustainability Masdar & Director of the Zayed Future Energy Prize, highlighting Masdar and the Zayed Future Energy Prize commitment to accelerating the adoption of renewable energy in the UAE and around the world. Also featured is Mr Hamed Al-Hashemi, Executive Director Economic Policy at Abu Dhabi Council for Economic Development as well as other influential organisations and individuals.
The first issue of the eJournal was released in May 2013 and showcased major achievements in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as provided by member organisations. The first issue’s feature article, penned by H.E. Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, EAD Secretary General, discussed the strategic role of leadership in sustainability.
