YIWU, China-Tuesday 30 April 2019 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE) -- China Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair 2019, the professional platform for international small commodities to enter China, will open on May 23-26, 2019 at the Yiwu International Expo Center in China’s small commodities paradise Yiwu City.

The Fair of this year will cover an exhibition area of over 50,000 square meters, providing 2,000 international standard booths in 4 exhibition zones, namely Asia Pavilion I, Asia Pavilion II, European Pavilion and America-Australia-Africa & Cross-border Trade Pavilion.

The imported commodities to be displayed will include household items, maternal and child supplies, beauty and personal care, crafts, home appliances, food and beverage, health and nutrition, fashion accessories, creative toys, stationery, sports goods, clothing and accessories. The Fair is expected to attract over 1,500 business companies and organizations from over 100 countries and regions across the world. The number of visitors and buyers will exceed 120,000.

The Import Commodities Procurement (Yiwu) Summit, as one of the core activities during the Fair, will gather leading retailers including Walmart, Carrefour, Lianhua Supermarket, HNA Retailing, and China Resources to place orders on-site.

Other activities will include UCLG ASPAC Executive Bureau Conference 2019, “Belt and Road” International Urban Economic and Trade Cooperation (Yiwu) Dialogue, China Import E-Commerce Supply-Chain Conference, as well as Spanish Culture Week, overseas new products launch show, world culture shows, food carnival, and imported red wine tasting.

China Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair was founded in 2012 as a professional platform for introducing overseas consumer goods to China. In 2015, echoing the national “Belt and Road Initiative”, and endeavoring to advance the construction of the Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe railway and Yiwu-Ningbo-Zhoushan port, the Fair was elevated in terms of level and scale, and began to be co-sponsored by the China International Chamber of Commerce and the China Business Federation. In June 2016, China Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair was certified by UFI, becoming the first of its kind in China to pass the certification. Now, the Fair has become one of the first-choice platforms for oversea consumer goods brands entering China.

The pre-registration for exhibitors and buyers, including imported goods trading companies, supermarkets and cross-border e-commerce platforms, is still open at: http://www.importfair.cn/en/pre-reg/

AerSale Partnering with Universal Avionics to Develop STC for ClearVisionTM Enhanced Flight Vision System on Airbus 320 Aircraft

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-Tuesday 30 April 2019 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AerSale®, a global supplier of mid-life aircraft, engines, used serviceable material, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, announced today it is partnering with Universal Avionics to develop a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the ClearVision Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) on Airbus 320 aircraft. FAA certification for the retrofit upgrade is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2020, with Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) validation to immediately follow. AerSale will also handle ClearVision installation.

Manufactured by Universal Avionics, the ClearVision EFVS solution includes the SkyLensTM Head-Wearable Display (HWD), a cost-effective and more modern alternative to a traditional fixed Head-Up Display (HUD). The SkyLens high-transparency visor presents high-resolution symbology/imagery, including an Enhanced Vision System (EVS), Synthetic Vision System (SVS), and Combined Vision System (CVS) for superior see-through transmission in all weather conditions, day and night. The state-of-the-art HWD requires significantly less installation effort and can often be installed in a few days, compared to a fixed HUD that requires disassembly of the aircraft cockpit and can take weeks—all while the aircraft is grounded.

“We are proud to work with Universal Avionics to apply our STC-development expertise to the ClearVision EFVS, which will certainly prove to be a game-changer for A320 operators worldwide,” said Iso Nezaj, Chief Technical Officer at AerSale. “Once the STC has been issued by the FAA, we’ll install ClearVision in a fraction of the time required for current systems, maximizing flight time for our customers.”

AerSale has previously developed STCs for its own proprietary products including AerSafeTM, a more economical fuel tank flammability reduction option, and AerTrakTM, a cost-effective ADS-B Out solution, as part of the company’s engineered solutions and parts manufacturing capabilities.

“We are excited to partner with AerSale to offer a high-performance EFVS and wearable HUD solution to the A320 market,” said Dror Yahav, Universal Avionics CEO. “This STC will allow A320 operators to install EFVS breakthrough technology, for the first time, in a commercially affordable way.”

As part of the NextGen roadmap, ClearVision aligns with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) 91.176 released by the FAA, enabling operators to perform a full landing procedure with no natural vision, where the reported visibility is as low as 1,000 feet. The ClearVision system offers unmatched capabilities for airline operators, providing dispatch and landing approach priority as well as low visibility landing, regardless of the destination airport’s infrastructure.

Moody’s Details Global CSR Accomplishments

NEW YORK-Tuesday 30 April 2019 [ AETOS Wire ]

(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Moody’s Corporation (NYSE:MCO) today published its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report. The report highlights initiatives underscoring Moody’s commitment to empower people with the knowledge, resources and confidence they need to create a better future for themselves, their communities and the environment.

“We believe access to opportunity helps propel people toward greater success and communities toward greater prosperity,” said Raymond McDaniel, President and CEO of Moody’s. “Over the past year, our global CSR programs have helped empower people with the knowledge, resources and confidence they need to work toward a brighter future.”

“Moody’s touches communities and markets across the globe. Our extensive reach creates the opportunity — and responsibility — to play an important role in helping both people and enterprises in developing economies to grow and thrive,” added Arlene Isaacs-Lowe, Global Head of CSR at Moody’s.

Moody’s CSR strategy focuses on three core areas: empowering people with financial knowledge, activating an environmentally sustainable future and helping young people reach their potential. Each of these areas are supported by Moody’s employees sharing their passion and purpose with the world.

Empowering people with financial knowledge

As part of Reshape Tomorrow, its financial empowerment initiative to help people succeed in growing a small business, Moody’s works with small business owners to both help them better navigate the credit process and connect with lending institutions. For example, Moody’s partnered with WEConnect International, a global organization that supports women-owned businesses and champions gender-inclusive sourcing.

Activating an environmentally sustainable future

Moody’s expertise in credit ratings, research and risk analysis helps facilitate investment in sustainable development. In 2018, Moody’s completed 21 new Green Bond Assessments, covering $7 billion of debt, to assist investors in their evaluation of green bond offerings used to finance environmental projects.

Helping young people reach their potential

Through its partnership with non-profits around the world Moody’s helps to prepare young people aged 15-24 for successful careers in finance, technology and economics. In 2018 we created the Queer Coders program with the Hetrick-Martin Institute, which supports LGBTQI youth in New York, with a particular focus on people of color. The program helps young LGBTQI people to develop their technical skills and explore their passion for coding.

The report also details steps Moody’s takes to enable employees to work with non-profits and use their professional skills to support local communities and businesses.
