Mobile Police Patrols at Abu Dhabi Bus Station

The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, represented by the Transport Police Department, will be assigning mobile police patrols for the service of community members at the main bus station in Abu Dhabi. This step reflects the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ keenness to enhance security in vital areas and sectors.

These remarks will be part of a radio address by Colonel Tariq Khalfan Al Ghoul, Head of the Transport Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police, which will be broadcast live tomorrow Sunday. It falls within the framework of the ’Security Glances’ Campaign organized by the Radio Branch at the Security Media Department, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Colonel Al Ghoul indicated that the Transport Police Department provides distinguished and high quality services to community members, notably maintaining security and protection for the integrated public transport network in Abu Dhabi to encourage community members to use public transport with enhanced confidence and safety and boost relations with them, in pursuance of the vision and strategy of the Ministry of Interior aimed at ensuring the safety and stability of society.

إصابة 3 أشخاص في حادث تصادم 19 مركبة بأبوظبي جرّاء الضباب

تسبّب في نفوق جمل وإصابة 2 من الإبل بكسور

أصيب 3 أشخاص في حادث تصادم تتابعي بين 19 مركبة، بسبب الضباب الذي تشكّل صباح اليوم "السبت" على طريق أبوظبي العين.
وأسفر الحادث عن نفوق جمل، وإصابة جملين آخرين بكسور، جرّاء انقلاب وتدهور المركبة التي كانت تقل 9 من الإبل.
وأرجع العقيد حمد ناصر البلوشي، مدير إدارة مرور المناطق الخارجية في مديرية  المرور والدوريات بشرطة أبوظبي، سبب الحادث، وفقاً للمعاينة المبدئية، إلى تشكّل الضباب الكثيف، ما أدى إلى انخفاض مستوى الرؤية الأفقية.
وأوضح أن دوريات الشرطة والمرور، وفرق الإسعاف، تعاملت مع الحادث فور تلقي بلاغ بحدوثه، حيث تم تقديم الإسعافات الأولية للمصابين في مكان الحادث ونقلهم على وجه السرعة إلى أقرب مستشفى، بينما جرى نقل وقطر المركبات المتضررة، إلى جانب التعامل برفق مع الحيوانات المصابة بالتنسيق مع جهات الاختصاص.
وكانت مدينة زايد بالمنطقة الغربية قد شهدت صباح أمس "الجمعة"، حادث تصادم بين 3 مركبات، نتج عنه وفاة 2 وإصابة 7 آخرين، جرّاء انخفاض مستوى الرؤية الأفقية بسبب الضباب الذي تشكّل بكثافة، وقد أسفر عن احتراق حافلة وصهريج محروقات، وتضرر مركبة بيك أب.
وكرّر العقيد البلوشي دعوته بضرورة القيادة بحذرعلى الطرق الداخلية والخارجية، خصوصاَ خلال الساعات المتأخرة من الليل وحتى ساعات الصباح الأولى، والتقيّد بترك مسافة أمان كافية، وعدم تجاوز المركبات الأخرى، وتجنب الأخطاء التي يرتكبها العديد من السائقين، والتي تتمثل في استخدام إشارات الانتظار أثناء السير في الضباب، ما يؤدي إلى وقوع الحوادث المرورية.
وحثّ السائقين على إيقاف المركبة خارج الطريق مع اتخاذ الإجراءات الاحترازية التي تتضمن سلامتهم أثناء سيرهم في الضباب الكثيف، وتقليل سرعة المركبة تدريجياً، ومواصلة القيادة بحذر وبسرعة تتناسب مع الظروف المحيطة والجوية ومفاجآت الطريق.
الجدير بالذكر، أن إدارة الإعلام الأمني في الأمانة العامة لمكتب سمو نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية، أطلقت أخيراً، حملة (ومضات  أمنية)، تضمنت دعوة عبر الأثير، تدعو السائقين إلى أخذ الحيطة أثناء القيادة عند تشكل الضباب في الصباح الباكر والفترة المسائية.

Three people injured in 19-car fog pile-up in Abu Dhabi

One camel killed and two others injured in accident

Three people were injured in an accident involving 19 cars on Abu Dhabi – Al Ain road on Saturday morning due to low visibility during thick fog.
The police said that one camel was killed and two others sustained multiple fractures, when the truck transporting nine camels overturned due to the collision.
According to Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Bloushi, Head of Peripheral Regions Traffic Department at Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate, initial investigation results showed that the accident occurred due to thick fog that blanketed the area and reduced horizontal visibility.
Colonel Al Bloushi said, "Police and Traffic patrols as well as ambulance and rescue teams were rushed to the scene immediately upon receiving notification about the accident. The paramedics administered first aid to the injured and provided them with medical care on site, before transferring them to hospitals for treatment. The damaged vehicles were removed from the crash site, and the injured animals were provided with necessary treatment in coordination with the relevant entities.” 
The accident comes one day after a three-car pile-up accident in Zayed City in the Western Region, Abu Dhabi, which killed two people and injured seven others due to low visibility during thick fog. A fuel tank and a bus were gutted by the fire that broke out due to the collision, and the pick-up truck was severely damaged.
Colonel Al Bloushi reiterated the importance of exercising caution while driving on internal and external roads, especially during the late hours of the night until the early hours of the morning. He also called upon motorists to leave sufficient safe distance between vehicles, to refrain from overtaking other vehicles, and to avoid other driving errors, such as using the hazard lights while driving in the fog, which may lead to traffic accidents.
He also urged motorists to stop their vehicles off of the road, turn off their warning lights, and take all precautionary measures that will assure their safety while driving in foggy conditions. He also urged drivers to reduce speed gradually, drive cautiously at a speed that suits the surrounding conditions, to be able to avoid eventual road surprises in foggy weather.
It is worth mentioning that the Security Media Department, at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, recently initiated a media campaign titled ‘Security Glances’, which includes radio messages designed to enhance awareness among motorists and encourage them to exercise caution while driving in foggy weather, especially during the late hours of the night until the early hours of the morning.

ناقشت وزارة الداخلية، توحيد مفاهيم تنفيذ تمارين الأمن الداخلي الميدانية لعام 2015.
وتم خلال الاجتماع الذي عُـقد في الإدارة العامة للعمليات المركزية، استعراض الأهداف ونتائج التمارين الميدانية لعام 2014، والنسب المستهدفة، ودليل التقييم لتمارين الأمن الداخلي.

وأضاف أن التمارين، تأتي ضمن الخطة السنوية لتمارين الأمن الداخلي التي تقوم بإعدادها وتخطيطها الإدارة العامة للعمليات في وزارة الداخلية، والمتمثلة في مبادرة تطوير تمارين الأمن الداخلي، وفق أفضل الممارسات، ومبادرة تطوير مهارات القادة في مجال الأزمات والكوارث، إضافة إلى توحيد المفاهيم وإجراءات العمل.

MoI: Unifying Security Exercises Concepts Discussed

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) hosted a meeting to discuss unifying the concepts and mechanisms of internal security-related exercises for the year 2015.
During the meeting, which was held at the Directorate General of Central Operations, attendees reviewed the objectives and outcomes of the 2014 field training, in addition to the target ratio and the assessment guide for internal security exercises.
Staff Colonel Abdul Wahhab Al Hajeri, Directorate General of Central Operations at Ministry of Interior, said that the meeting is a part of the MoI strategy, aimed at joining efforts and unifying concepts, via coordination meetings among the operations officials in the MoI to discuss joint planning and coordination, internal security training exercises, and implementation mechanisms of such exercises at the countrywide level. The meeting was held in collaboration with the Strategy and Performance Development Directorate General and other police general headquarters and directorates.
Adding further, Staff Colonel Al Hajeri said, "The exercises are part of the security training annual plan established and implemented by the Directorate General of Central Operations at the Ministry of Interior. This annual plan includes a set of initiatives, notably developing internal security plans according to the best practices, and developing leaders' skills in cases of crises and disasters, in addition to unifying concepts and procedures."
The meeting was attended by the operations heads of departments and chiefs of sections at the various police general headquarters across the UAE, and the Directorate General of Central Operations at Ministry of Interior.
