The Ministry of Interior, represented by the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking at the Human Rights Department, discussed means to enhance cooperation and mutual coordination in the anti-trafficking field with the International Association of Women Police (IAWP).
For this end, Colonel Khamis Obeid Al Kaabi, Vice Chairman of the committee, met in his office with Jane Townsley, President of the International Association of Women Police.
During the meeting, Ms. Townsley reviewed the Interior Ministry’s efforts in the field of human rights protection, particularly women and children’s rights and anti-human trafficking. Townsley was also briefed on the Ministry’s major efforts in spreading the human rights culture, the related international reports, and ways to respond to international organizations and bodies in cooperation with concerned parties.
IAWP President Jane Townsley stressed the importance of reinforcing relations, and exchanging expertise and information between both parties in this field.
The meeting was attended by Colonel Mohammed Ali Al Shehhi, Head of the Local Coordination Division at the MoI’s Human Rights Department; Captain Amina Mohammed Khamis Al Bloushi, Chairwoman of the UAE Women Police Association; and a number of officers from the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior.
