Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of Peripheral Regions Directorate won the Ideal Leader of Police Operations Award at the 6th Annual International Warrior Competition organized by King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC), in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The competition, which is considered the strongest among international military competitions in world, was attended by 38 teams representing 19 Arab and foreign countries including: UAE, USA, Canada, Netherlands, China, Russia, KSA, Bahrain, Palestine, Slovakia, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Brunei, Lebanon, Iraq, Malaysia, Pakistan, among others. This achievement is considered a new gain assuring the reputation and efficiency of the Emirati police on the regional and international levels.
Funded by the USA, the Center gains its importance from being a new field of interaction between all international forces including NATO. The Center also enhances the collaboration efforts amongst them to counter terrorism and different military and security challenges facing the international community. This international competition shows the readiness to fight all kinds of terrorism.
Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, got the Ideal Leader of Police Operations Awards surpassing all other contestants, after considering his active role as Chairman of the Knowledge Higher Committee at the Ministry of Interior, and his department being awarded the Committed to Excellence Certificate by the European Quality Committee, to be the first authority to get this certificate outside the European continent.
The winners’ coronation ceremony was held today evening “Monday” at King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center, and was attended by a large number of Defense Ministers, Chiefs of Staff, and army leaders from all over the world, as well as a number of senior military leaders and participating teams’ leaders and members of the diplomatic community.
Colonel Sheikh Mohammad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan expressed his happiness with this achievement, as it is a result of the continuous care and support of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to elevate the competence of our police institutions both locally and internationally. It also embodies the higher leadership’s keenness and ongoing pursuit to keep the UAE in the lead of the most secured and stable countries in the world.
Sheikh Mohammad also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the officials at King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center for the well-organized International Warrior Competition and their hospitality, and hailed the efforts to make this competition a successful event.
The events of the first day of the competition began with clearing obstacles and shooting from different distances and positions, rifle and sniper shooting, and a field challenge which shows the warrior’s patience and his endurance. It also tests his morals during a fight through the optimal use of weapons. The events also included multiple competitions that were based on time, speed, skills and precision.
Brigadier Staff Alzaben, Director General of King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC), Stated that the center gave a chance to all the participating units and teams, to exchange their experiences and knowledge to fight evil, where technology meets training. He pointed that the participants showed a competitive spirit through various shooting events, ability, endurance, patience, teamwork skills and many different martial arts, which, as a whole, embody Ideal spirit of a warrior.
