Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, announced the launch of its inaugural program to sponsor creative individuals at the Ministry of Interior. The program, which is the first-of-its-kind in the country, aims to discover the ministry’s creative employees and help them further develop their creativity. A total of 20 officers, non-commissioned officers, and civilians from different police headquarters and sectors are taking part in the program. They held a meeting at the Leadership Development and Creativity Center at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior.
In his speech on the occasion, Major General Al Nuaimi said: “Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, supports this program as he believes it is of vital importance to discover and sponsor creative people in order to develop a young leadership that is capable of excelling. The program, which is organized by the Leadership Development and Creativity Center, aims to build a creative society that is able to compete in this era of development and continuous change.”
He said that the Ministry of Interior aims to harness human resources through this program in order to achieve its strategic goals. “It also aims to deliver institutional standards by sponsoring and developing creative individuals, as well as nurturing creative competition among employees. However, this cannot be achieved without programs based on the best international practices,” he explained, adding that this program will be the cornerstone for a creativity club targeting creative people and serving as an unparalleled modern platform across the country to promote administrative creativity.
He also said: “The ministry sees this program as a priority; it provides the necessary requirements to enable success and urges participants to further their efforts to achieve the utmost from this program. The ministry considers the participants to be the elite among candidates for this program, and we wish them the best of luck and success.”
For his part, Major Fahed Ismail Al Hosani, Chief of the Creativity Sponsorship Section, shed light on the program’s importance, terms for candidacy, targeted categories, and its goals. He also reviewed the phases through which the program was developed; the program was developed over a two-year timeframe. During this period, the organizers reviewed the best local and international practices in the field and carried out specialized research and studies.
Major Al Hosani highlighted the steps that the first batch of participants underwent in order to be chosen. “The program selected people across the Ministry of Interior with creative ideas and proposals. These chosen individuals then underwent written, mental, creative-thinking, and personality tests. As a result, the best candidates were chosen for the program,” he explained.
The program includes a variety of activities to polish and improve their creative skills and capabilities. These activities include meetings with police high commandments as well as MoI leadership who hold high degrees.
