HH Saif bin Zayed attends Graduation of 632 Students at (ADVETI)

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, attended on Tuesday, the graduation ceremony of 632 male and female Emirati Nationals, who make up the third batch of graduates from the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI), and the first batch of graduates from the Secondary Technical School (STS), the two branches affiliated to the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET).

Also present at the ceremony, which was held at the Applied Technology complex in Mohammed bin Zayed city in Abu Dhabi, were Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of His Highness, the Minister of Interior; and Adveti's deputy director general Dr Mubarak Al Shamsi, along with a number of officials, students’ parents and industrial partners.

Addressing the graduates after handing them over their certificates, Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, emphasized the country’s leadership commitment to develop the skills of its national cadres. He also urged the graduates to pursue further scientific research and achievements, in order to attain the highest and most advanced levels.

His Highness added that human resources are the main pillar of progress and development in any country, noting that the Institute’s graduates will now contribute to enrich the labor market’s both public and private sectors. “You are this country’s future; and you have the ability and skills to make a good start towards achieving creativity and excellence in the various fields of work,” he said. Moreover, His Highness congratulated the graduates, wishing them further success in the service of the nation.

HH also lauded Adveti's tremendous development, praising the quantum leap it achieved in producing skilled national cadres, specialized in the various disciplines required in the country’s evolving labor market.

For his part, Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Deputy Director General of Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI) commended the significant support provided by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to empower the Institute of further developing technical education across the various Emirates in the country, for the good of both the nation and its citizens. Moreover, Al Shamsi expressed his thanks and appreciation to Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, for attending the ceremony. “This reflects the higher leadership’s keenness to encourage Emiratis to acquire technical and vocational disciplines, so as to meet the labor market’s need for vital disciplines, which are instrumental for the development plans in the country,” he added.

Dr. Al Shamsi noted that most graduates have already obtained distinguished jobs in several institutions and industrial companies in the state. Moreover, he stressed the increasing demand among the various industrial enterprises to recruit graduates who specialized in the technical and vocational disciplines provided by the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI) in its various academic institutions and secondary schools, expressing confidence in the outstanding future that awaits the Institute’s graduates.

Dr. Adel Al Ameri, Adveti’s CEO inaugurated the ceremony with a speech, expressing heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership, led by His Highness, the Head of State, (may God protect him). He praised His Highness’s initiatives and permanent support for education, with particular attention to technical and vocational education in the state. Moreover, he underscored His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s dedicated commitment to care for Emiratis studying at both the Center and the Institute; commending the diligent attention of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed and his prominent role to qualify and support citizens.

He added: “We are fully aware of the challenges that await the graduates at the beginning of their career. For this end, we have eagerly endeavored to arm all graduates with the necessary science and knowledge attainment to complement their career, after having provided them with theoretical studies and advanced practical training at the Institute. This contributed to produce distinguished unique competent graduates,” he said.

Furthermore, Al Ameri indicated that a total of 420 female Emiratis and 180 male Emiratis graduated from Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI)’s 20 Diploma programs in the various disciplines available at the Institute. It is noteworthy that all diploma programs that are taught at the Institute have been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Commenting on the graduation of the first batch of 32 students from the Secondary Technical Schools; Engineer Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Aveti’s Director of Support Services indicated that STS are currently witnessing remarkable success, thanks to their modern programs and to the paradigm shift it sustained by replacing traditional curricula with developed electronic curricula. “This would help establish a strong technical and scientific base among students, enabling them to pursue their studies at the various universities and institutes, and at Adveti’s academic institutions in particular,” he added. He also commended STS’s advanced options provided for students upon enrollment in high-level educational systems, which enhances national capabilities to achieve innovation and creativity in the various scientific fields, in keeping with the requirements of advanced work field and industrial and economic growth.

Al Hammadi went on to explain that the Secondary Technical Schools available across  the various emirates in the country, provide a wide range of academic disciplines, namely; Engineering (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering); Aviation Maintenance; as well as Business Administration (facilities management, supply chain management, and accountancy finance). It also provides Health Sciences, Multimedia, and Visual Arts studies. These curricula are designed in keeping with the needs of the local business and industrial sectors, qualifying students for work; and to continue their university studies. “This is achieved through corporate sponsorship programs for students in the various specialized disciplines provided at the Secondary Technical Schools, and designed according to companies’ needs,” he concluded.

During the ceremony, student Dalal Al Yafei, a Human Resources Management graduate, from the Al Jazirah Institute of Science and Technology, graduates valedictorian, expressed the graduates heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the wise leadership’s continuous support for education and education seekers. She pledged to exert the utmost efforts to show her gratitude for her beloved country.

Following the celebration, Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, accompanied by Dr. Mubarak Al Shamsi and a number of officials, toured the Applied Technology Complex’s various developed facilities. HH expressed his admiration for these facilities, stressing that they comprise all the components and necessary factors to produce competent national cadres, consistent with the wise leadership’s aspirations.

At the end of the tour, the graduates had the opportunity to pose for a photo op with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. Furthermore, students’ parents expressed their appreciation for His Highness Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s kind patronage and attendance of their children’s graduation ceremony; stressing that it constitutes an incentive to all Emiratis to work diligently to give back to the homeland and its wise leadership.
